This Indigenous Life was a project developed in partnership between The Red House Project, The Lakota Peoples Law Project and Indigenous Peoples Movement.

As Producer I booked guests, recorded interviews, oversaw edits and mix-downs, oversaw graphic creation, wrote digital copy, created social media posts and press kits for partners and uploaded to YouTube and websites. Check out some of the episodes or the YouTube channel to watch.

On this segment of This Indigenous Life storyteller, producer, environmental protector and Indigenous Scientist of the year, Laundi Germaine Keepseagle (@lgkeepseagle) of the Standing Rock Reservation describes her work with Native & Black led non-profit Save Money Save Life in Chicago, healing through humor and her desire to showcase the joy of being Native through media.

Dr. Wendy Geniusz' Two-Spirit Children's Book

This episode of This Indigenous Life introduces us to Dr. Wendy Makoons Geniusz, a Cree + Metis woman raised with Ojibwe language and culture, and the bi-lingual children's book she is helping to create. Remedios Dibaajimind is the true story of a male turtle, who, after fathering a child, transitioned to become a full-fledged egg-laying female turtle.

Wendy credits her life and all of her success to the strength of the Ojibwe language. She is an assistant professor of Languages at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she teaches Ojibwe language courses.
